Project: “Erasure of Identity'

This project will require students to research on current challenges in architectural identity due to change. It will require students to investigate and observe transformation of particular society’s identity through study of architectural development over certain period of time.

In a group, they will collate, consolidate and present an essay discussing the transformation based on the material gathered. Submission will be in the form of essay (group) and illustrated diagram (individual) summarizing their findings.


Assignment 2: Interpreting Architecture Identity


This assignment requires student to interpret architectural identity extracted from Assignment 1. Analysis of architectural form and space based on plans, sections and elevations is required. The analysis is supported by selected readers that provide methods of interpreting architecture.

Assignment 1: Identifying Identity


This assignment requires students to identify of specific country through physical and non-physical attributes and address the questions of what, where and why such identities are adopted and to highlight contributing factors to the shaping of the identity.'
